10 Questions with Tim Miller
Get to know the team
at Cellar Media and the awesome people we work with.
1. Who are you and what do you do?
I’m Tim Miller, owner of Tim Miller Creative and I create videos, shoot photography, act and participate in all other sorts of creative endeavors. I am an active attender at my church Harvest Bible Chapel in Davenport, inside and outside the church. I also am an improvisor at Comedy Sportz in Rock Island for the last 8 years.
2. Where are you from?
Born in Landstuhl, Germany then moved around a bit before landing near Waterloo, IA in a small (emphasis small) town called Dunkerton.
3. What led you into your career field?
Well I grew up in front of a tv and was quick to borrow my mom’s VHS camcorder whenever I could growing up. Attended UNI and told myself I didn’t want a job that would keep me behind a desk all day. Jokes on me! Though I have had some great opportunities to travel with my profession and church.
4. What inspires your creativity/work?
It’s cliche but VERY true, Jesus. He has given me a gift (sometimes I feel a curse) to not see things as most do. I have a hard time thinking inside the box and/or stop the ideas from coming. I generally need a funnel to focus those ideas at times. I create creatively to glorify Him through my gifts and passions. I love working with a team too, there is nothing better then working hand and hand with other creative people. Telling a story is also great to do.
5. What do you bring to the table that’s unique?
Well I have a lot of ideas, that’s for start. I also know a lot of people and locations in the Quad City Area. I also wear many hats having done most positions in the creative process, from writer, to actor, to director to craft services.

6. What are you currently reading and watching?
Currently I am finishing Don Miller’s book A Million Miles in a Thousand Years and transitioning into David Platt’s book Radical. I always have my head in the Bible too. Good read, check it out. Watching: I am working through the entire series Battlestar Galactica (2004), i always enjoy a episode of the Office as well.
7. What is something you are obsessed with at the moment.
I’m not really sure I am obsessed with anything at the moment.
8. What is your favorite meal?
Not sure about that one. I really enjoy Thai food and barbecue (not together). I eat a lot of Mexican food. Fresh fruit and greens is always good too. Peanut butter pretty much rocks my face off as well.
9. Drink of choice?
Good ol’ H20. If you ever had kidney stones, you will understand why. Though a Thai ice tea is good too.
10. Where can others view more of your work?
I have a website coming out soon until then people can check out my youtube at youtube.com/five13productions and a handful of my photos at flikr.com/mrtimmiller
